A LETTER TO MICHAEL

EXCERPT

"I love you Michael. You are my strength, my soul and the essence of my being. I am better with you, and because of you. 

Our souls mated before our bodies did. I can do anything; go anywhere, and be anything knowing that you will be there for me when I return. You will always be my strength. As time passes, and we are too old to stand, we will sit together. When we can no longer see, we will feel each other; when disease has ravished our minds, our souls will guide us to each other.
 
 Sometimes when it's late, and the world is wrapped in the velvet darkness of sleep, still awake I fear that I've dreamed you and our life together.
  
When the only sound is the night as it makes it way along the damp streets I take courage in your silent presence. I look beside me, as you dream in our bed and I smile, knowing that the dream includes our lives and what we've made of it. It is then that I feel transported to a place I'd only dreamed about until I met you. A place that finds me safe, secure, loved and protected. I am as you have helped me to become, as you want me to be, as I should be, and when I look inside myself, I see you.
